本日ご紹介するのは、オランダのアムステルダムに拠点を置くAR大手プロバイダーのLayarがリリースした、本とARを組み合わせてARコンテンツの作成を行う事が出来るアプリ「Layar Creator」です。

このアプリを使うと、簡単に本と連動したARのコンテンツを制作する事が出来ます。本の表紙やページに連動した動画、画像、リンク、購入ボタンなどを組み合わせて、ARコンテンツを制作する事が出来、作成したコンテンツはアクティブ化した本に、アプリを起動したスマートフォンのカメラを向ける事で閲覧する事が出来ます。

今回ご紹介させていただくARアプリは、AR技術の老舗 Layar が実世界の平面にコメントやラクガキを貼りつけて共有できる iOS / Android アプリStiktu です。Stiktu は平面上のパターンつまりポスターや製品パッケージ、雑誌のページなどを対象にテキストや手書き、ステッカーを貼ることができます。

GPSなどの位置情報から場所に対してタグを打つのではなく、画像として認識した平面に対して貼りつけることで、スキャン対象がポスターや製品、あるいは雑誌のページなど複製されるものであれば、別の場所で誰かが貼ったタグをアプリごしに参照することができる仕組みです。

近い将来、このようなアプリを利用して町中に表示されるARの広告を見て商品を購入する日が来るかもしれません。
