■ What is the technology AR?

■AR技術とは何か？
本やPCに貼り付ける付箋のように、モノや空間に情報をペタっと貼り付けて、その情報を読み取ることで付加価値を加える技術のことです。
■もう少し詳しく説明すると、
AR(Augmented Reality：拡張現実)
「現実環境にコンピュータを用いて情報を付加提示する技術、および情報を付加提示された環境そのものを指す言葉」（Wikipedia)
現実世界を補う「何か」を追加することで、目の前にある現実以上の情報を提示する技術や、その技術によって表される環境そのものを含めたものです。
■ARアプリの種類は多く分けて２つ
（１）ロケーションベース（位置情報）型
GPSなどから取得可能な位置情報を利用する。
GPSなどから取得できる位置情報にひも付けて付加的な情報を表示します。
また、磁気センサによる方位（情報を見ようとしている人の向いている向き）や加速度センサによる傾き（視線の仰角や俯角）などと併せて、情報を提示する場所を決めています。
（２）ビジョンベース型（マーカー&マーカーレス型）
画像認識・空間認識などの技術を応用して直接目の前にある環境を認識・解析
ターゲットとなる、QRコード（マーカー）や、画像（マーカーレス）認識することで情報や3DCGを表示します。
